corpus christi kicks it to the industrial food system

Dear Food Systems of The WOrld,

Today is the Feast Day of Corpus Christi.

The feast of Corpus Christi calls our attention to the holiness of all matter, our Eucharist, our meal together, the wheat as it grows.  Today we process the body and blood of Christ out into the world, a Benediction for the World. The bread and wine is placed inside the holy monstrous, surrounded by the 4 tabernacle candles, the same procession as Holy (maundy) Thursday.  We carry the communion cup out into the world and within ou

During this time of the fullness of Pentecost Corpus Christi is blessing all the world, and in particular the food that we eat, and our communion with the land. The justice of food systems is called to the level of love, intimacy, and peace-making that we are given during the Last Supper.

Our food is our communion, our agriculture is peace making. We bless the whole world to live within the mystery of food as this communion.

This week we will harvest our rye, broccoli, lettuce, peas, potatoes, radish, mustard greens, kale, garlic, onions, and carrots.

It had been raining very regularly hard and long, and the vegetable gardens don't need to be watered in the early morning. I am grateful that the days have not been hot.

We have been doing a whole lot of weeding in the gardens due to this rain. I love weeding when the soil is wet. Weeds such as lamb's quarters, red root, lemon clover, purslane are all edible "weeds."   In all actuality the purslane that grows wild as a weed here, is a delicacy in England and Mexico. It is ver rich in Omega 3's and fatty acids. I have never had the tomatoes staked this early.

The hill is covered in divine wildflowers.  The Peace is growing. The earth is blessed in communion, from a watering trough.

BLESS YOU ALL THE 4 DIRECTIONS OF THE EARTH

west, north, east, and south we bless you with the holiest communions of goodness and everlasting life, and health and purity, and justice. Food systems of the world, transform from within the goodness you have been created within.

YOU ARE GOOD.

love, farmer andrea
