opening ourselves with the hinging daylight hours

palm sunday

Today was Palm Sunday. All the liturgically mindful were wearing red. I journeyed from Lancaster to meet the triumphant entry beside the blooming forsythia bushes and the cracked pavements. We waved our branches high and opened wide the gates of our hearts.

It's been real sunny, and today is opening day of baseball for the Phillies. We planted our peas  on Friday . It had been 28 years since they won the World Series, it has been 28 years since the last  Birkat Hachamah, the sun blessing. It has been 28 years since the sun was in this same position in the sky this week, on the 4th day of the week, Wednesday, signifying the same time as when the sun was created in the beginning of time.
